12 years of DDA and still can't get a pint

Why, after 12 years of the Disability Discrimination Act can't I get into most pubs and restaurants? What do we need to do?

Disabled Peoples Partnerships, Wakefield

Disabled Peoples Partnership provides an opportunity for disabled people to meet, raise issues that interest them and, where appropriate, provide a collective voice.

This blog is to enable any disabled person, their PA/Carer or family to discuss how to make our communities accessible to all. Any Disabled people outside the district are welcome contribute and share ideas.

The aim is to establish 6 partnerships across the Wakefield district by April 2008.
The areas are:

  • South East, Fitzwilliam, Kinsley, Hemsworth, South Kirkby, South Elmsall, Upton and surrounding areas.
  • North East, Featherstone, Castleford, and surrounding areas,
  • South East Central, Pontefract, Knottingley, Ferry Bridge and surrounding areas.
  • North Central, Normanton, Altofts and surrounding areas.
  • Wakefield Central and surrounding areas.
  • West, Ossett, Horbury and surrounding areas.

This blog isn't about disabled peoples care in the home, please no posts on this subject.
